Tacconelli will probably be accountable for maintaining and preserving Shackamaxon's renowned and historic north-Jersey golf course; a nearly-century old, par-71 layout that boasts Tillinghast's first island green. Shackamaxon was purchased by a joint venture partner of RDC Golf Group at the end of December of 2011.

Tacconelli comes to "Shack" having a great resume including experience and agronomic leadership at numerous first-class country clubs, such as world-renowned #1 Pine Valley GC. For example, Tacconelli served as greens superintendent for five years with the Charles B. MacDonald and Seth Raynor designed Northern coast Country Club in TaylorMade R11S Driver  Glen Head, N.Y. His stellar credentials include a three-year stint as assistant the game superintendent at the legendary Pine Valley Golf Club in Pine Valley, N.J., as well as on the agronomic staff of Merion Driver, site of great national championships, including the 2013 U.S. Open.

At Shackamaxon, Tacconelli will oversee the course's bunker restoration plan (being carried out April), and also manage and train maintenance downline, oversee annual operating budgets, and supervise clubhouse landscaping.

Tacconelli is often a graduate of East Stroudsburg University -- which is recognized for its agronomic program -- and received his certification in Turfgrass Management from Penn State University.

Shackamaxon was founded in 1916, while offering a spectacular A.W. Tillinghast 18-hole championship golf course. The par-71 course boasts one of the most famous holes inside the Metropolitan area: the ninth hole island green, Tillinghast's first island discount golf clubs green. The club has hosted numerous prestigious events including the 1922, 1937, 1972 and 2002 On the internet services State Golf Association (NJSGA) Open Championship, the 1924 and 1977 NJSGA Amateur Championship, the 1928 Met Open, the 1955 Cavalcade of Golf as well as the 2010 Women's Eastern Golf Association Amateur Championship.
